Have you priced commercial photo editing software tools such as PhotoShop? The prices are astronomical! I will have to agree the Picnik is one of the best (if not the best) solutions over purchasing a photo editing software tool. I’ve had the opportunity to play with PhotoShop, and quite frankly, it can be very confusing and time consuming trying to learn it. Picnik, on the other hand, is more user-friendly and faster to learn. Many times while developing a course site or handouts for classes, I use images of different kinds as visual aids. More times than not, there is a need to edit the image to better fit the purpose. If you have a computer and Internet service, you are able to download Picnik (and other photo editors) from anywhere. The download is quick and simple. You don’t have to be a photographer or other professional to quickly learn some of the editing features such as brightening the color, crop pictures, sharpen pictures, or add special effects…and who doesn’t have the need to remove red eyes! With Piknik, you can even edit pictures online and send them to your students or friends and family. I have really enjoyed using and applying special effects to pictures. Being able to edit so easily makes me feel like a pro and impresses those who don’t know about photo editing. I have not used Pixenate yet. However, due to Dr. Yuen’s recommendation, I’ll be trying Pixenate very soon, so I can compare it to Picnik, which I think will be hard to beat.

picnik在教與學之使用上均具備良好且有趣之功能。學生可藉此發揮創意，將圖像作有趣且多元化之運用，尤其是其易操作的特性，可擴及使用之學生年齡層次範圍頗寬。至於在老師的應用上，亦可更鮮活生動地呈現活動概況、課堂集錦、圖像瀏覽等，讓教師之教學更加多元化，有效加深學生學習印象；亦有力於敎師間之教學心得交流、創意教學與新活動過程圖像製作與傳遞等。

這是一套相當不錯的網路修圖軟體，在使用的過程中，可能需要花一些時間，不過介面相當人性化，我們能夠在網路上進行相片、圖片編修的工作，算是滿容易上手的一個ONLINE software ，而且又免費FOR FREE，算是滿不錯的一個網站。

I ever used Google Picasa as free soft for photo editing. But function can not compete with Picnik or Pixenate. I can enjoy these 2 softs a lot.
We know the digital camera is more and more popular recently and we can review the photo before we print out. That the reason why we realize how important for digital dark-room. We can modify or fix defect as we want.

picnik在教學使用上很好操作，除了第一次下載速度有點慢之外，之後就很順手，而且支援繁體中文介面，讓國中的學生也能輕鬆使用，學生得創意真是天馬行空，許多學生的作品也許沒有用上很多特效，但都是創意十足的作品，也讓學生玩得很開心。

也可以這樣用喔把公司四周的環境的照片都個修飾跟介紹用picnik在照片上打上一些介紹把這些照片給客人看順便做個介紹讓客人印象加深應該可以這樣做!!! 哈哈哈

在電腦課學的第一個軟體是”picnik”.剛開始進去時,真的很難進去等了老半天.最後還是在自家試用.裡面功能多.豐富多樣化雖然有些要錢但有些不用真的蠻不錯的.可以變眼睛顏色.增加各種不同特殊效果.邊框.增加文字..等等.我用了一張自己的照片去玩(在吃東西的照片)

FENDI教學後的心得分享
這是一套讓我的學生使用上最有成就感的軟體,第一次下載較慢外,以後就OK且一節課學生就會有作品輸出,幾次下來學生就會有自己特色的圖片輸出

having just tried both sites, I have to say that I love Picnik’s ease of use, flexibility. and “fun factor.” In fact, the only downside I can see is that it’s a “blocked site” on Forrest General Hospital’s wifi (I’m not at all sure why, though).

As an undergraduate student in Graphic Arts, the expense of purchasing software always was a problem. It was a costly product on a college student budget. Before you could master it, a new version would come out and be just as costly. With online free photo-editing every can create professional software with little or no training.

Digital imaging for multimedia and web development is a necessary tool in today’s digital world. Many photo-editing products are not only costly but also large in size. Having such a space hog on you computer slows down your operating system and consumes your storage. The answer to this is to use online services. Being able to upload and retouch photos, apply special effects, and to remove red-eyed compositions are just a few of the ways that your photos can take on a professional, neat and clean, appearance.

I wonder how this technology is affecting professional photographers and copyright ownership. Photo-editing afford users to alter images that render completely different pictures. I wonder if the copyright laws will be rewritten to keep pace with technology. I am sure that many legal battles will ensue from the creative freedom that this technology affords the users.
