Free Versions of SnagIt and Camtasia Studio

I learned about an unbelievable deal this morning. It is hard to believe that TechSmith is offering the fully functional versions of SnagIt 3.1.3 as well as Camtasia Studio 7.5.2 FREE for download. I paid for over US$200 for the educational licenses of these software. Both SnagIT and Camtasia Studio are popular software for teachers, students, as well as IT professionals. SnagIt is an excellent screen-capture and editing application and Camtasia Studio is by far the most popular and powerful screencasting software. Apparently, TechSmith wants to expand its market in Europe and is offering the slightly older versions free to the readers of PC Plus Magazine and UK.Net Magazine in UK.

This is a terrific offer for teachers and students who want to create instructional materials in the digital format. So, do not miss this great opportunity and get these software while they are still free.

Here are the links for downloading both SnagIT and Camtasia Studio and requesting the software keys:

Thanks for posting this type of information on computer software. I want to become more knowledgeable of computer software. When I become a teacher I want my students to be able to use the computer and come very familiar of the computer and its components. I think Snagit and Camtasia are great software for teachers. I can not wait to see how students will react to create instructional materials in a digital format.

I just came back from the workshop for Camtasia this morning and it took for almost one hour and a half. Though we have the software in our lab, there are so much software to learn recently and I can not spare the time to exam it in depth. But it is the software I have been dreaming to use for quite a long time and this is the first time I got it so close with it.

The Camtasia we were taught is the Camtasia 4.0 and the instructor told us that it would cost 197 for the education use and for other uses, it might cost almost 300 dollars. It is really amazing news to learn that we can get the older version for free use and I believe it is already good enough for us to try all the functions and features.

Personally I believe that Camtasia really has a user friendly interface and it is quite easy for us to use. You can simply play with it for hours and get to know almost all of its features. We can easily use it to capture the screen for whatever usage, add the title and add the caption for accessibility; we can also record our own voice and import other audios or videos there to satisfy your need. It is the most frequently used and the most influential one for screen capture and it is perfect for those who want to make video tutorials on some certain topic.
