Mobile 2.0

I came cross an interesting presentation “Mobile 2.0” today. The presentation was created by the author of mTrends, Rudy De Waele, and delivered at Plugg Conference in Brussels on March 19, 2008. Plugg is a conference which shares a European perspective on Web 2.0 and focuses on raising global awareness for European start-ups in the Web / Mobile 2.0 field. In his presentation, Rudy discusses the Mobile 2.0 and why you should care. He examines the historical development and explores the latest trends in the mobile web.

This is interesting because we are just talking about the Web 2.0 and now it comes the Mobile 2.0. Technology develops so fast that I even did not find time to get familiar with Web 2.0 yet.
Anyways, I like the Mobile 2.0, it is good and advanced. I believe that mobile 2.0 is another revolution of the mobile web sites through which the web and the mobility landscape that we currently know will dramatically changed. With devices that become more hybrid, the networks need to be more powerful in the future to meet the new need bringing by the new technology.
Also, according to the m-trends.org, there will be a lot of movement around on the mobile start-up front. As we already see that Yahoo with Flickr and Google with YouTube are going mobile, and there are also some very interesting start-up companies resolutely going mobile. Many of them are focusing easy-to-use mobile web apps and services. Some of them are listed below:
    • BluePulse
    • ComVu
    • Funambol
    • Gizmo
    • Loopt
    • JuiceCaster
    • Mobo
    • Mystrands
    • Plazes
    • Plusmo
    • Sharpcast
    • SlingMedia
    • Shozu
    • SoonR
    • TalkPlus
    • Widsets
    • Winksite
Of course there are many others are either exist or coming soon. Recently, people are all focusing on Internet, web2.0, mobile, telcoms, IT, media, broadcast, advertising, agency, PR, venture, banking, design and consulting. As Peter Stark, Sony Ericsson said about the Mobile 2.0: “To me it was of great valuable to see to so many Mobile Web ideas presented in one day – it saved me weeks of research.” It is true that many people are inspired by the event that happened around the Mobile 2.0. There are more than expected are coming.

The mobile devices indeed bring us so many conveniences, comfort and are transforming our lives greatly. Mobile 2.0 has great capabilities aided by the various and powerful mobile devices. Behind the great development of the Mobile 2.0 is the high speed wireless connection, which is supported by the wireless broadband technologies. High speed certainly encourages people to use more of the mobile devices and I think anther reason is that the colorful and various mobile devices are carrying more and more powerful functions. The mobile 2.0 will provide more interaction between people from all corners of the world and the mobile devices. And it is not that hard to image that the mobile 2.0 certainly has great potential and development and many commercial companies have already aimed at this and try to take great advantage of this new development. Cell phone companies like the Nokia are the leading pioneers in this field and they are pushing forward their new style of cell phone almost everyday.

When I searched online, I have also found that there was also many conferences and discussions on the topic “mobile 2.0”. The gathering of all the professionals, experts and technologists will exchange their thoughts and ideas about this and will bring more vitality to the further development of the mobile 2.0. I definitely have no doubts on the great development of the mobile 2.0. I believe it will not only apply to the computer related fields and it will also extend to other different fields of the future lives.

  3. Tim Bryant says:

They’ve got to open it up to the hackers. The phone manufacturers need to quit being concerned about service being stolen, and look at how quickly the technology will advance if the platform becomes open, and people can innovate. I believe Google is already working toward their version of the iPhone, “Android”, http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20071105-its-official-google-announces-open-source-mobile-phone-os-android.html

This could be what we are waiting for – a mobile phone that truly can become a swiss army knife for technology.

Mobile2.0可以滿足上述需求。
    Web site mobile
Web
