    One of the articles listed in the above post caught my attention, 50 Twitter Feeds to Follow Higher Education News written on the accreditedonlinecolleges.com website.
    Okay, I confess. I held off on succumbing to the pressures of Twitter for as long as I could. But alas, I’ve given in to these pressures and finally joined the world of Twitter and begun tweeting.
    As noted by many individuals, I appreciate the world of Twitter for several reasons. First and foremost, it is a great way to share and receive timely information. However, a key advantage of Twitter is that you don’t feel pressure to respond. You can simply follow points of interest. In the world of email and social networks, there is certainly an expectation to respond, and I appreciate and use both of these applications constantly. However, at some point, there is a limit to the number of responses we can give and feedback we can provide. Twitter offers a great way to keep up with other people and hot topics without the pressure to respond. You can simply receive. Speaking of time, the brevity of tweets is also an advantage.
    Before Twitter, I believe that using an RSS feed was one of the only ways to “push” articles or news to consumers in an electronic format, but Twitter has revolutionized this concept. I really like RSS feeds, but I think that Twitter is easier to understand than an RSS feed. Keeping up to date has never been easier.
    This article provides a rich list of many leading journals and news agencies in higher education. As the article states, keeping up with changes in higher education can be a daunting task. Twitter provides an easy (and free) outlet to keep up with these changes.
