The Rise of QR Codes

Evidence of increased uses of QR code is everywhere. You can find QR codes in magazines, TV commercials, ads, business cards, consumer products, and the Web.  Also, teachers are now finding creative ways to use QR codes in the classroom.

Mobio’s report shows that QR scanning traffic increased 4549% since Q1 2010. Driving this increase in part is a rising number of consumers with scanning capability of their mobile phones. Consumers who added QR scanning capabilities during Q1 2011 increased nearly 10 fold versus new users added in Q1 2010. That is an increase of 938%. Exposure and familiarity with QR barcodes, driven by big brand advertising is the leading cause in user registration.

Queaar did an excellent job of creating an infographic “The Rise of QR Codes.”  The infographic is quite interesting and it can be viewed  here.
