Zipcast is Slideshare’s newest tool that allows users to conduct a Web meeting while presenting online. Zipcast is built on the new Web Sockets feature of HTML 5. It runs fully in the browser using HTML5 technology and doesn’t require any downloads or proprietary software to run.  Users can give a voice-over and video presence to the presentation and to control when the slides change.  In addition, your audience can chat about the presentation in real time.  I think Zipcast is a great addition to Slideshare and it is a simple, free way to coordinate an online meeting.

Like Slideshare, it is free if you are conducting public meetings and do not mind for a few ads during the public meetings. The good thing is that the free version still allows for unlimited viewers. If want a private meeting without ads via password protection, you can purchase a Slideshare Pro account starting at US$19 per month.
